Timeline.

Timeline of Important Inventions (1865-1915)
·         1865-Barbed Wire.
Inventor: Louis Jannin
Barbed wire tamed the Wild West and the open range.
·         1866-Dynamite
Inventor: Alfred Nobel
Dynamite made large mining projects much easier and faster.
·         1868- Typewriter
Inventor: Christopher Sholes
The Typewrite made writing faster, and produced many jobs
·         1869- Air Brake
Inventor: George Westinghouse
The invention of the Air Brake allowed rail cars to be stopped more efficiently
·         1876 – Telephone
Inventor: Alexander Graham Bell
The Telephone allowed instant communication from a distance.
·         1884- Trolley car
Inventor: Frank Sparague
The Trolley car played a large role in the fixing of the mass transit problem in big cities.
·         1885 – automobile
Inventor: Karl Benz
The automobile would evolve to be the main source of transportation.
·         1888 – Kodak Handheld camera
Inventor: George Eastman
The handheld camera gave millions of Americans the Opportunity to take photos. This opportunity was responsible for photojournalism.
·         1893-Radio
Inventor: Nicola Tesla
The Radio would be used as a form of entertainment, and a way to transmit important public messages.
·         1895-X-ray
Inventor: Wilhelm Conrad Roetgen
The invention of the x-ray would greatly advance medical technology and knowledge.
·         1902-Air Conditioning
Inventor: Willis Carrier
Air Conditioning greatly improved the comfort of being indoor on a hot day.
·         1903- Airplane
Inventors: Orville and Wilbur Wright
The air plane would be used as a way to transport mail, and eventually people.
·         1913- Stainless steel
Inventor: henry Breartley
Stainless steel allowed the metal to resist against corrosion or rusting, making it last much longer.
·         1914- Liquid rocket fuel
Inventor: Robert Goddard
Liquid rocket fuel would eventually be used to send people to space.
